Where the wild things are

Je dois me pratiquer! ». BAM!

The other day, I was going through my Bloglovin feed and I came across this outfit by the lovely Julie of Orchid Grey. Let's be clear: I am not usually one to copy someone else's entire outfit, but it looked so warm and cozy that I just HAD to recreate it! I don't own a plaid shirt, but I just rolled up the bottom of a plaid dress I used to wear in high school and TADAM! Lumberjack-meets-hippie outfit! I think Julie's version looked more sophisticated, but I really dig the woodsman vibe of mine. I'm definitely going to remix this old dress/faux-shirt a lot as the weather gets colder!

Dress: Streetwear Society // Vest: H&M // Jeans: Almost Famous // Belt: UO // Boots: Old Navy

This vest makes me feel like a total folkstar (does that even exist?). Hence the shades.

Seriously. Every single time I wear it, two pictures come into my mind: Lennon's yellow vest and Bob Dylan on the album art of his marvellous Desire.

Speaking of furry things... Have you seen the movie Where the Wild Things Are? I'm going to watch it tonight. I found it in a 5-dollars bin at Walmart (buying it was cheaper than renting!). Besides the lovely font on the DVD box, the picture of the furry character stole my heart! Let's just hope he's not the movie's villain! HA!

EDIT: Someone tweeted me Sonny & Cher's I Got You Babe video. It's one of my favourite songs ever! Shame on me for not including Cher in my furry folkstars inspiration list! Back then, she even had bangs, just like me :)
