Inspiration: Gourd Garden Dress

I've been in love with Modcloth's Gourd Garden Dress for months. Everything in this dress is pure perfection: the mustard yellow shade (my favourite!), the simple yet retro cut and the dainty crochet collar. Plus, it looks so versatile. I could wear it as a top, as a skirt or, yup, as a dress. However, 80 $ is a bit expensive for a dress... I'm very frugal, so I'm still waiting for its price to get marked down (sigh).

However, I found a pretty cheap way to recreate the vibe of the dress.

See? I made myself a lovely detachable collar and wore it with my yellow sweater! Total cost of this pairing: 6 $. Tomorrow's outfit = sorted! Be sure to come back later this week for a quick & easy DIY collar tutorial. It's ridiculously easy to make, I promise!

But for now, I'm going to bed. I had a very big day and I'm exhausted... I decided to drop my Personal Finances class (most stressful course ever!) and sign up for (distance training? not sure of the English term!) Analog Photography later this year. It will be way more motivating for me if I'm actually interested in the class' subject! Plus, I have this dusty Pentax camera who's dying to go out more often :)

  1. You look adorable, that detachable collar is so cute seriously and the best: you can totally change so many tops just by adding it. Can't wait for your outfit post

  2. The collar is such a smart idea! And it's so so cute as well. I think I like it better than the original dress's collar.
