Window Shopping // Swimsuit Hunt

I've been hunting for a high waisted bikini for quite a while. The only swimsuit I currently own is a flattering teeny-tiny Billabong bikini that doesn't cover much. I LOVE this suit, but I wanted a more modest one for those days when I don't feel like exposing my whole body in front of the old beach creeps (you know what I'm talking about). Plus, I needed bottoms that you can't untie at the sides (pranksters are so creative these days!).

I first considered getting this cute baby blue American Appareil suit, but the top had no padding. I have a small chest and suits without lightly padded cups are not flattering on me. I could have used another top, but I loved the look of the two matching pieces. This bikini would be a good option for girls with a fuller chest. EDIT this top doesn't offer support - better consider a solid blue/white one with underwire or thicker straps that will really flatter your bust, whatever its size ;) I like this one, which is available from 32B to 36D.

I also stumbled upon this crazy-awesome Mara Hoffman bikini. It had my name written all over it (deer! psychedelic art! bright colours!) but its whooping 386 $ price tag was a real deal breaker. As much as I liked the crazy prints, there was no way I would have dropped so much money on a swimsuit!

This Topshop set was adorable, but it was a sold-out model from a previous year... Too bad, I loved those graphic lines!

After a lot of search and disappointment, I finally found what looks like my perfect budget-friendly match. The bright polka-dots are so fun! I ordered it today and I hope it will look good on me :)

What is your swimsuit of choice for this summer? Do you prefer skin-baring cuts or more modest ones?

  1. My swimsuit is a red and white polkadot all-in-one with a halterneck and attached skirt. It's so adorable!

I love that blue one but I don't think it would work on a fuller chest either since there is no.support at all. It's not even flattering on the model!

    1. Sorry, typing on my phone and it went a bit crazy! I'm not usually this nonsensical!

    2. Haha! No problem ;) I didn't consider the lack of support, but that's totally true!
