As a graphic design/ illustration/photography student, I sometimes get to work on bizarre assignments. This time, the goal of the project was to create some greeting cards. We had to pick either a tool, a box, a teapot or a glove and photography it in a funny/clever context. We could choose between making a huge setup in the studio or just photography the object and manipulate the photos. I was too lazy to rent the studio and too clumsy to create a miniature setting, so I photographed a thrifted teapot near a window and proceeded to (digitally) turn it into a hot air balloon.
Drumroll...
I'm not quite sure how I feel about it... It's kind of semi-cute and surrealistic, but also a bit cheesy/embarrassing. Clearly this is something my great-aunts would love to hang on their walls!
