Three of my current obsessions: red lipstick, daily trips to random thrift shops and dressing like an old lady. I got rid of nearly half of my clothing when I moved into my tiny apartment and I just started rebuilding my wardrobe with secondhand blouses and dresses. I haven't been to the mall since... hum, 3 months? I'm getting quite good at finding pretty vintage pieces among ugly hipster sweaters and tacky rhinestone-adorned tees. Today I thrifted a 60's dress in a neon psychedelic print and a pair of 70's gaucho pants that look very much like a skirt. I can't wait to wear them both. The gauchos are definitely a fun style challenge!
In other news, I am repainting my whole apartment and let me tell you, I'm the absolute worst painter ever. It took me 4 hours to paint two walls and I have two more to do, plus my bathroom. I had the brilliant idea to buy a gallon of black paint along with my baby blue one and I get shivers just thinking how messy things will get when I start painting my other walls black. Ugh ugh ugh. I also have to cover up some neon yellow graffitis I did on bedroom door yesterday. I came across this pin and decided it would be oh-so-lovely to have neon doors in my apartment so I bought a can of yellow spray paint and went cuckoo with patch tests. Shooting from a can was fun and I felt like a total badass doing it, but the chemical odor was so nasty that I had to abandon the idea of spray painting my whole door neon yellow. So much for my Pinterest reverie :(
